JENS VOM DORP
Jens Vom Dorp was born in 1982 in Mönchengladbach, Germany, a city located very close to Düsseldorf where he now lives. His first photographic experiences date from his childhood thanks to the use of his father's non-digital reflex camera. At the age of 19, he affirmed his interest in photography and specialised in architectural photography in order to record the cities and landscapes he was exploring on his many travels. From 2002 to 2006, he worked as an independent photographer and engaged in the documentation of the construction of Borussa Park, the new football stadium of the football club of Mönchengladbach, which was how he made a name for himself. He became interested in German objective photography, an artistic movement initiated by Bernd and Hilla Becher, who taught some of the greatest contemporary artists, notably including Andreas Gursky. His large formats fascinate Jens Vom Dorp, owing to the extraordinary wealth of details they contain.
