From Taiwan, Po Chen was born in 1984 in Changhua on the west coast of the island. Originally trained as an IT engineer, he graduated in 2008 and immediately travelled to North India with the intention of joining a humanitarian and educational association. Alongside his volunteer work, this experience gave him the chance to produce his first images on the shantytowns of Chandigarh and publish the album Indian Drifting in 2010. Armed with this success, the Taiwanese government commissioned a project on the city of Yunlin, for which he produced a second book in 2012 entitled Yunlin, one and all.
