Sull'opera

Christopher Bliss recently published his second book of photographs dedicated to New York, entitled Iconic New York and supported by Ed Koch, the city?s former mayor. His works in black and white and in colour are brought together, forming an impressive photo report on the constant evolution of the most fascinating city in the world. Christopher Bliss has also produced dozens of calendars on New York, distributed worldwide. His artworks are widely recognised and feature in numerous private and institutional collections in the United States and Canada, as well as in Europe. Several of his works are part of the permanent collection of the Museum of the City of New York.<cr/>In high demand, he has pursued both his personal artistic practice and his professional work as an advertising photographer for major US corporations. For over 20 years, his works have been regularly presented as part of the prestigious Laguna Art Festival, one of the major arts events in the country. <cr/>

L'artista

A photographer born in New York, Christopher Bliss has always been attracted to the many facets of metropolitan life: after obtaining his high school diploma from the Manhattan School of Music, he then studied in Los Angeles and Vienna, Austria, before launching his career as a concert pianist. Inspired by the urban skylines and the invigorating character of big cities, he practises photography passionately in his spare time. Since 1988, within the context of an ongoing project, he has thus continually roamed New York, photographing the city in order to capture the evolution of its architecture and culture.  ...
