De kunstenaar

Born in 1993, Dylan Elie Halff is a Swiss artist who is passionate about nature and landscapes. Alongside his studies in commerce and management, the young man taught himself photography and was an avid reader of specialised books and magazines in order to master all of the existing photographic techniques and retouch software. He claims to be only an amateur photographer but his photographs are worthy of a true professional's. His interest in images dates back to July 2012, when he went to Alaska and experimented with his first digital camera. Since then, time and efforts have borne their fruit, and after hours in the field trying various settings, Dylan Elie Halff has made a name for himself among the greats, and has notably collaborated with a chef, producing two books on bread making and baking.  ... Over het werk

Dylan Elie Halff?s photographs seem to have sprung directly from his imagination, given the surprising natural worlds they present, with their spectacular and fantastical dimensions. This image was taken on an autumn morning in a town on the Swiss border. Lamoura is a French town in the Jura area, located on the edge of the Forêt du Massacre. Before the photographer?s lens, this ephemeral nature enters the field to show us a wonderful little corner of paradise. Magic overrides reality, dazzling colours tint the leaves spread on the ground in hues of red and rays of light peek between the branches of trees. The technique used by the photographer is known as HDR (High Dynamic Range) and consists of taking several identical images of different exposures, then assembling them with the aid of software. The result allows, in scenes with high contrast, a harmonious exposure to be obtained for the overall photograph.

DAMIEN DUFRESNE

As Damien Dufresne says himself: "I let my hands do the talking". His approach is totally new in that it's at the crossroads of makeup, body art, artistic direction and photography. The resulting complexity, technicality and beauty are impressive. Damien Dufresne, a make-up arti...
