Sull'opera

If there were only two words to describe the work of photographer Charlotte Van Driel, the first would be minimalism. Concerning her compositions, the Dutch artist has just one motto: “less is more”. As for her style, the more chaotic the world becomes, the more she appears to seek simplicity. The second word would be tranquillity. The photographer combines pastel colours and a few digital touch-ups to her minimalist compositions. The result is aesthetically pleasing and poetic, surprising viewers with its soothing virtues.

L'artista

Based in Nijmegen, in the east of the Netherlands, photographer Charlotte Van Driel cultivates the art of minimalism. Her sole motto is: “less is more”. Since she was very young, she has devoted her time to photography by reading specialised books on the subject. In 2016, when her reading was no longer enough to satisfy her creative appetite, Charlotte Van Driel decided to enrol in a photography course. Stimulated by this interlude, she finally started practising her passion – to the greatest delight of her audience. She focuses on architecture and landscapes with the same intention, that of capturing the moments of calm that punctuate, here on earth, a general atmosphere of chaos. “The more chaotic the world becomes, the more I surprise myself by seeking out simplicity,” she intimates. Each of her compositions thus transport the audience into a colourful and minimalist world where a therapeutic sense of calm reigns supreme.  ... Vedi di più Vedere di meno

“The wall belongs to the ‘retards’, ‘inept’, ‘rebels’, ‘simpletons’, to all those with a big heart. It is the blackboard of the school of life,” says French-Hungarian artist Brassaï in his famous back Graffiti. A veritable ode to urban art, Brassaï’s reflection was to mark the a...
