Born in Indonesia, Rarindra Prakarsa sources his inspiration from his native country. Based in Jakarta, photography has set the rhythm of his daily life for over twenty years. He produced his first images in 1994, after his studies at the Jakarta State Polytechnic while he was working as a graphic designer for a local newspaper. The photographer places humanity at the heart of his artistic work and questions the relationship that we maintain with our environment, whether it be cultural or natural. He therefore brings a sensitive and poetic gaze to bear on the picturesque landscapes around him and on the lifestyle of its inhabitants, which he naturally relates to his childhood memories. Parallel to the production of images designed for international publications, Rarindra Prakarsa led workshops in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Russia to teach his practice and technical knowledge of the medium.
