FREDERIC FAURE

BIOGRAFIE

Painting, sculpture, photography… Frédéric Faure has been immersed in the fine arts from a tender age. In the wake of an artist mother, he has developed his creativity and honed his artistic eye. Already, at the time, he “focused” on photography. He invested technically in 2010 in black-and-white traditional photography before devoting his time solely to digital some time later. Based in Marseille, he wanders the streets in search of authenticity. This perfectionist immortalises culture, habits, and customs… that he describes as “the spirit of the times”. To do so, he captures both fleeting moments of daily life and constructions designed and built on a different timescale: built to last. He then edits his vibrant shots in post-production. The retouching work on his photographs enables him to retain the essence of the subject and to invite audiences to think about the future of our modern world, and ourselves, by extension. Exhibited at the Rencontres de la Photographie d’Arles in 2017, the Marseille-based photographer heightens the everyday. In this way, he shows that, according to the way we observe the world, a seemingly banal object can prove to be deeply and intensely beautiful.  ... Mehr sehen Weniger sehen
