SEASONSAbout this photograph
Photographer Luis Mariano Gonzáles essentially uses macrophotography in his artistic work, favouring nature and landscapes. He reappropriates plant forms and colours, removing them from their initial environment in order to obtain a new subjectivity. The mastery of this technique confers a mysterious aspect of surprising sensuality to the flowers that he photographs. The precise treatment of lighting highlights the lines, plays on transparencies, and infiltrates the contours, magnifying the colours and the overall composition. The photograph "Seasons" was produced in June 2012. It consists of several images taken on the island of Terceira in the Azores, Portugal, as well as the city of Meco in Spain. Like colourful blotches, the various wild flower and plant species stand out against a colourful backdrop created by the photographer, plunging us, in his own way, into a dream.Read more Read less
