Today, Nicolas Guérin devotes himself as much to fashion and advertising as portraits of celebrities. Added to that is his passion for female nudes. Thus covering all aspects of photography, he combines different photographic techniques on a daily basis, moving from one topic to another like a virtuoso. This humorous series imprints the rigor and precision of its execution upon film and fashion. The difference is that the decor is almost nonexistent, highlighting the actions and extravagance of the models, who stand out from the rest of the image. At just 30 years old, Frenchman Nicolas Guérin passed from the world of cinema to that of photography. This reconversion nonetheless did not prevent him from continuing to rub shoulders with the stars of the 7th art throughout his career. A self-taught photographer, he notably began in 2000 by offering his services to the cinema magazine Positif, a collaboration that continues today. Just two years after starting out as a professional photographer, he has shown his photographs all over the world, from the Palais des Festivals de Cannes to the Yokohama Cinema Festival to the Institut Lumière de Lyon, and also published a book, 100 cinéastes d’aujourd’hui [100 Contemporary Filmmakers]. When he is not creating portraits, he is also a fashion photographer and works with international press to produce the covers of The Guardian, Time Magazine, GQ, Le Nouvel Observateur or Télérama. He dedicates the rest of his spare time to producing nude female portraits captured with his Polaroid in his studio in the north of Paris.
