Born in 1975, Swiss artist Sandro Gämperle is multi-talented, playing many roles. A professional engineer, he had a career in mechanical engineering while developing an eminently professional photographic practice in his spare time. A self-taught photographer, he taught himself photography from the early 2000s, at the time the first digital cameras arrived on the market. The instant character of digital allowed him to experiment the technique and settings required to produce images on his own. From his home in Zurich, Sandro Gämperle fuels his curiosity by documenting the voyages he undertakes throughout the world, whether they are professional or personal. The photographer’s determination bore fruits when he participated in a number of exhibitions in Switzerland and recently at “Photo 13†and “Photo 14†at the Maag Event Hall by presenting his shots of Myanmar and the American West.
