Sainte Foy TarentaiseAbout this photograph
In 2009, Jon Wyatt travelled the world to photograph several glaciers. This British photographer notably went to Greenland for his ?Naked? series. Jon Wyatt researches the theme of man?s relationship with nature and the fragile balance between the two. He adopted one of his preferred subjects: the vulnerable human figure in isolation in the middle of a huge and potentially hostile environment. The glaciers become allegories featuring forces stronger than humanity. Like mortals trying, in vain, to reach Olympus, man continues, beyond reason, to want to reach summits and confront an environment which is both wild and mysterious but above all sublime.Read more Read less
