De kunstenaar

Created in 1927, Keystone was the first big photo press agency to have international offices (London, Berlin, New York, etc). Since its creation, it has produced a number of stories covering the four corners of the world and all types of subjects (arts, sciences, everyday life, industry, great political, sporting and cultural events). Numerous collections were also acquired allowing a collection to be built up of more than 15 million photographs which show history, personalities and arts over a period from antiquity to this day and age (1985). From the Russian Revolution to the advent of the Third Reich, from the First World War to the Camp David Accords, the essence of the 20th century is illustrated in the Keystone collection.Reproduction prohibited / Keystone France Agency  ... Over het werk

Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg met in 1968 on the set of the film ?Slogan.? Gainsbourg, as male lead, was unhappy about playing opposite Birkin whom he found ?hopeless.? The relationship between the young English woman and Gainsbourg were difficult: they barely got on. Gainsbourg had just come out of a passionate and stormy relationship with Brigitte Bardot whilst Birkin?s marriage with John Barry had just ended. The magic worked its charm and the couple became one of the most coveted by the media for more than 10 years. Serge Gainsbourg was like Pygmalion with Birkin. The songs composed by Gainsbourg and sung by Birkin topped the charts. This photograph was taken in 1969 during the Union des artistes gala. To fund the Union des artistes, top stars were approached to take part, voluntarily, in a circus show. In evening dress, the fiendish ?Je t?aime? moi non plus? and ?69- Année érotique? duo hit the red carpet. Reproduction prohibited / Keystone France Agency
