Sull'opera

The Viedma Glacier captured by Luc Hardy is located in an indeterminate border zone between Argentina and Chile. After the Upsala Glacier, it is the largest in the National Park of Los Glaciares and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. At its tail end, the glacier acts as a natural damn, blocking the water that thus forms a lake. The French-American photographer shares his poetic vision of Patagonia, where nature is both hostile and magnificent. We might also say that the artist's poetry show us all the sensitivity of this fragile world, balancing between the forces of humanity and the demands of extreme conditions. Hoping to document our changing world, Luc Hardy thus reveals all the temporary beauty of this majestic landscape threatened by climate change and already a victim of melting ice.

L'artista

A Franco-American adventurer alternating between France and the United States, Luc Hardy is passionate about expeditions to distant lands. His curiosity for the world and his taste for adventure, born on the family farm in Brittany, later matured in the remotest of countries and is now affirming itself through a decisive and exacting photographic style. When he is not resting in his tepee in Connecticut, he pursues his passion, travelling frequently all over the world, taking photographs or reporting on distant lands, often for international charities. A member of the New York Explorers\' Club, Luc Hardy has undertaken a number of scientific expeditions in the polar regions and is the author of Antarctic Adventure (2005), Greenland – Impressions (2007), and Arctic – Transitions (2008). The profits from the sale of these photos are paid to environmental organisations Pax Arctica and Green Cross International, the NGO founded by Mikhail Gorbachev .  ... Vedi di più Vedere di meno
