L'artista

At the age of 30, while working as a designer of industrial machines, Stefan Rappo decided to enrol at the ETPA School of Photography in Toulouse. Both talented and motivated, he was able to skip the second year and after only three years, left for Paris with his diploma in hand. He then worked for the Pin-Up Studio and made a living from small freelance jobs, before being hired as an assistant for various photographers. He was spotted by Peter Lindberg who hired him as third, then second, and finally first assistant from 2011 to his death in September 2019. “Everything that Peter Lindberg does is carefully thought-out and studied,” he explained in 2018. “His ability to manage light and his relationship with people is incredible, but not only that, he also inspires trust.” This regular activity and proximity with the master has allowed him to successfully complete his own projects. He works for Aubade advertising and regularly creates projects on female nudes, one of his great passions: “You have to photograph what you love, and I love women’s bodies,” he says. No matter the subject, his photos are filled with grace and serenity.  ... Vedi di più Vedere di meno

Sull'opera

Stefan Rappo loves wide open spaces and the serenity they inspire. This is exactly the feeling conveyed by this luxury hotel in the Mojave Desert, where clients can stay right next to the Joshua Tree National Park (California), while still being subjected to the relentless heat. The only movement in the scene is the woman (naked, of course, given the photographer) diving into the pool, bringing with her a slight breath of fresh air.

DAMIEN DUFRESNE

As Damien Dufresne says himself: "I let my hands do the talking". His approach is totally new in that it's at the crossroads of makeup, body art, artistic direction and photography. The resulting complexity, technicality and beauty are impressive. Damien Dufresne, a make-up arti...

ALFREDO SANCHEZ

Alfredo Sanchez was not predestined for photography. Born in Mexico in 1954, he studied law and took up a career in the private sector. “My free time was spent playing tennis, horse riding, and let’s not forget my favourite pastime: photography,” he says. Much later, towards the ...

PEDRO JARQUE KREBS

Ferocious beauties isolated from all context, as though they had been captured in their most secret intimacy, this is the remarkable artistic gesture of Peruvian photographer Pedro Jarque Krebs, restoring to the animals some of their stolen dignity. After studying philosophy at t...
