The artist

Born in 1977 in Nantes on the banks of the Loire, Gildas Paré was not yet at high school when he discovered his passion for photography thanks to black and white prints. He subsequently undertook professional experiences in several studios. It was in 2005 that he truly dedicated himself to photography and became an independent, working for many communication and advertising agencies. He started his first personal projects in 2011, such as “Food Waste” in which he questions the modes of consumption of our societies and cultures. Gildas Paré won the Grand Prix de la Photographie de l'Alimentation 2011 awarded by the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, and a highly commended award at the Prix International des Nouvelles Écritures in 2015. In the same year, he exhibited at the Transizioni Festival in Bologna as well as at the Zoom Photo Festival in Saguenay, Canada. He regularly works with Libération, The New York Times and Vice magazine.  ... See more See less
