In 2015, after studying music for 15 years, Alexander Schönberg turned to landscape photography following the recommendations of his doctor, who advised him to take walks to relax. One hour later, he held a camera in his hands and captured his first images of Hamburg. Photography rapidly became his principal means of communication with the world around him. Wandering through the streets of the German metropolis, Alexander Schönberg has developed a personal point of view of the city and explores the powerful symbolism of its many bridges. From 2016, he has specialised in black-and-white architectural photography and launched a series on urban melancholy. His work is now internationally acclaimed, garnering many awards at prestigious competitions and notably the Fine Art Photography Awards (FAPA) and the Prix de la Photographie (Px3) in 2017, as well as the Trierenberg Super Circuit and the Moscow International Foto Awards (MIFA) in 2018. ...
