Catherine Pluchart was born in 1978 in Cambrai, in the north of France. As a teenager, she discovered a true passion for drawing and photography, two practices that enabled her to undertake, several years later, studies in the fine arts at the Saint-Luc Institute in Belgium. Classes in art history and painting have considerably influenced her photographs, which, in their construction, more closely resemble paintings. Momentarily leaving aside photography when she entered working life, it came back to her as a clear choice some ten years later, on a trip to French Polynesia. Catherine Pluchart moved to Paris and decided to launch her professional career in 2010. Sensitive to the beauty of images and that of her female models, she creates aesthetic and perfectly framed stagings resulting in graceful and poetic pictures. Internationally renowned, her photographs are notably published in Vogue Italia and Uomo Vogue.
