About the artwork

Using natural light and soft lines, Tina Trumpp creates captivating photographs of the female body. Through her camera lens she revisits the mystery of femininity from a new point of view, not as an object of desire, but instead with a respectful elegance that showcases the confidence, strength and beauty her muses embody with dignity. Far from being superficial pinups, her photographs use a visual language that reflects a painter's vision of the female body. The writer George Bataille wrote in 1957 that "Eroticism lies in the approval of life even in death." The sensuality of the female nude as seen by a woman is both seductive and provocative. Tina Trumpp thus creates her own vision of the female body which, despite the current climate and contentious debate, is an ode to the beauty of women, and seductive without being voyeuristic.

The artist

Tina Trumpp is a photographer and jazz singer who lives in Stuttgart. At the beginning of her career she worked in advertising agencies in Spain, Italy and Germany before recording her début album, Come a Little Closer in 2010, followed by a second, Duality in 2012. Alongside her career as a musician, Tina Trumpp taught herself photography and takes portraits of women whose elegance reflects the softness of her voice and the sensuality of her musical universe. The German artist possesses a large portfolio of clients from different backgrounds and mostly does portraits, nudes and photo assignments for the publishing industry. Shades of sensuality just closed in Stuttgart, but her work will be presented in 2018 in several monographic exhibits in Leica galleries in Porto, Rome, and Bologna.  ... See more See less

“The wall belongs to the ‘retards’, ‘inept’, ‘rebels’, ‘simpletons’, to all those with a big heart. It is the blackboard of the school of life,” says French-Hungarian artist Brassaï in his famous back Graffiti. A veritable ode to urban art, Brassaï’s reflection was to mark the a...
