The artist

In both his daily life and in his images, photographer Costas Spathis likes structure and order. A professional architect, he has been passionate about the visual arts from a very young age and taught himself the inner workings of photography. An avid follower of new technologies, he continually explores and develops new techniques, new ways of creating and editing photographs. So once drones were made accessible to the general public, he became a pioneer. This new tool even further stimulated his passion for the eighth art and reveals his talent for aerial photography. His style, graphic and minimalist, is the result of a savvy mixture of art and geometry. Behind the controls of his drone, he remains attentive to the play of light and shadow to capture the best image at the best moment. His goal? To attain perfection.  ... See more See less

About the artwork

An encounter between geometry and photography, the work of Greek photographer Costas Spathis stands out for its orderly minimalism. A professional architect, he taught himself photographic technique and soon developed a passion for aerial photography. Armed with his drone, he meticulously plans each of his shoots to obtain the perfect composition. On ski trails, he manages to immortalise order in the midst of chaos.

THIBAUD POIRIER

Born to expatriate parents, Thibaud Poirier spent his childhood in many cities around the globe, but out of Houston, Montreal, Buenos Aires, and Tokyo, it was the latter that has influenced him the most: “I discovered architecture there, in particular by Tadao Ando, and it became...

ALFREDO SANCHEZ

Alfredo Sanchez was not predestined for photography. Born in Mexico in 1954, he studied law and took up a career in the private sector. “My free time was spent playing tennis, horse riding, and let’s not forget my favourite pastime: photography,” he says. Much later, towards the ...
