About the artwork

Since her early days as a photographer, Mikeila Borgia has specialised in the creation of poetic portraits and surrealist and conceptual worlds. Very often, pain is expressed on the face of her female models, as is the anguish of human existence, love for the universe, metaphysical and mystic connections, and the close relationship we maintain with death. The personalities photographed seem at once fragile and invincible. In this image, the title announces that ?the young woman?s tears are eternal?. Was it inspired by American photographer Man Ray?s photograph Tears, from 1932? The long lashes with mascara captured in close-up by the photographer unequivocally present the eyes of a woman crying, whose tears were made of glass beads.
