About the artwork

Originally from Austria, photographer Martin Ogolter is today based in Rio de Janeiro. Through his camera lens, he creates meticulous conceptual works. With his SME series, he builds up layers of understanding for the viewer. By weaving two different photos together, he gives depth and relief to images while also multiplying levels of understanding. This creates an abstract pixelisation that itself contains meaning.
