About the artwork

Based in London, Benoît Audureau is a French artist specialising in still life photography. Well-known in the professional sphere as the number one photographer in the beauty industry, he also practices his art through various experimental personal projects including the series Exoplanets in Galaxy B. Here, the artist is seeking to withdraw himself from our solar system and create new planets. Produced in the studio, this series of large-format photographs is the result of an improbable mix of liquids created for purely aesthetic purposes.

The artist

Born in Biarritz in southwestern France, the photographer Benoît Audureau made a name for himself through his talent for still life photography. His passion for photography revealed itself in the middle of the 1990s during a trip to India. Years later, he has yet to set down his camera and has made a name for himself in the beauty industry. He is now based in London, where he most often works in the studio. With a certain skill for creating beauty from everyday objects, the artist has a thick book of professional engagements. Brands viciously compete to get him to promote their products using commercial still lifes, otherwise known as “pack shots” ( a photograph of a product introducing it to its audience). He has gone so far as to be considered the number one photographer for cosmetics brands. Chanel, L’Oréal, Asos, Body Shop, Burberry, Neutrogena, Guess, Jo Malone, Net à porter, Marks & Spencer, etc.: the list of brands who have trusted the photographer with their products is as long as it is prestigious. In addition to his professional practice, Benoît Audureau also focuses on personal artistic projects. The artist experiments with various processes including macrophotography and double exposures. In each of his creations he shows a special talent for mastering light and creating original, aesthetically-appealing works.  ... See more See less

CLAUDE DEGOUTTE

“The wall belongs to the ‘retards’, ‘inept’, ‘rebels’, ‘simpletons’, to all those with a big heart. It is the blackboard of the school of life,” says French-Hungarian artist Brassaï in his famous back Graffiti. A veritable ode to urban art, Brassaï’s reflection was to mark the a...
