MORE INFORMATION ABOUT DELIVERY

The artist

Born in Senlis in 1976, Ludwig Favre now lives and works in Paris. Art history, multimedia and audiovisual studies trained the photographer's eye, sensitive to the reproduction of picturesque landscapes. He has travelled widely, particularly between France and the United States. In New York, he allows himself to be surprised by the stunning infrastructure of the city and, whenever he gets the chance, reveals a vision oscillating between dynamism and serenity. Particularly attracted to life by the seaside, the photographer has also travelled off the Côte d’Argent. There, he photographed all the splendour of the seaside, lulled by the soft morning light and the gentle sound of waves.  ... See more See less

« I like everything that is disproportionate, things that can be find in my urban photos where the human is only a tiny part of the photo compared to the nature.»

LUDWIG FAVRE

About the artwork

Among all the subjects that he has photographed, Ludwig Favre has a particular fondness for the vast landscapes of the United States. Particularly appreciating the low rays of the evening and morning, in the golden hours, the artist applies a somewhat nostalgic soft tonality to his photographs. In October 2018, he visited downtown Seattle to capture the Paramount Theater, a concert hall with 2 800 seats. Originally a movie theatre, it officially opened its doors on 1 March 1928 under the name ?Seattle Theater?. Designed by architect B. Marcus Priteca, it was built by the construction company Rapp & Rapp. Renowned in the 1940s, it now serves as a live performance and concert hall, as well as screening silent films.
