« I like everything that is disproportionate, things that can be find in my urban photos where the human is only a tiny part of the photo compared to the nature.» LUDWIG FAVRE

About the artwork

Among all the subjects that he has photographed, Ludwig Favre has a particular fondness for the vast landscapes of the United States. Particularly appreciating the low rays of the evening and morning, in the golden hours, the artist applies a somewhat nostalgic soft tonality to his photographs. In October 2018, he visited downtown Seattle to capture the Paramount Theater, a concert hall with 2 800 seats. Originally a movie theatre, it officially opened its doors on 1 March 1928 under the name "Seattle Theater". Designed by architect B. Marcus Priteca, it was built by the construction company Rapp & Rapp. Renowned in the 1940s, it now serves as a live performance and concert hall, as well as screening silent films.
