About the artwork

Two women at the table. Milk bottles. At first glance, nothing would appear more normal. Yet the atmosphere chosen by Milos Nejezcheb is very disturbing. With good reason, as we later see one of the women has been killed by the milk. This series, logically entitled Milkiller was inspired by cases of lactose intolerance experienced by the Czech photographer's loved ones. While developing an artistic and conceptual photographic style, Milos Nejezcheb also wishes to focus on some of the social issues that are important to him: " If the person who looks at my photo stops and thinks about what they're seeing for even 15 seconds, then I've achieved my goal! "

The artist

Milos Nejezcheb was born in the Czech Republic in 1979. He bought his first reflex camera in 2011, when he daughter was born. From then on, his vision of the world changed: “ I started taking photos of everything and a whole world opened up to me, ” he explains. “ I rediscovered the ability we adults have often lost; that of being personally fascinated by things that others do not see. ” After photographing his family, nature, or weddings, he started taking conceptual photographs based on meaningful social subjects such as lactose intolerance or resilience. His photos stand out owing to their purity, harmonious colours, and the staging of characters that tell a story, depending on the themes broached. “ If the person who looks at my photo stops and thinks about what they’re seeing for even 15 seconds, then I’ve achieved my goal! ” says the photographer. Milos Nejezcheb won the Nikon Calendar 2018 Contest, the gold medal at the Austrian Trierenberg Super Circuit, the silver medal at the Fine Art Photography Award, and first prize in the Lifestyle category of Czech press photography awards.  ...
