Der Künstler

As an artist and scientist, Yi Sun is an atypical photographer, to say the least. He was born in China in 1982. From his earliest childhood he was interested in visual arts, but his life’s journey was to lead him elsewhere. He moved to the United Kingdom in the early 2000s and completed a research doctorate in biology in 2009 at the University of Cambridge. Today he leads a team of researchers at the University of Birmingham, carrying out studies to discover new therapeutic treatments for cardiovascular illness. At the same time, over the past ten years he has never been separated from his camera. His interest in the visual arts has never left him, and his love for nature has grown. This fortuitous combination has encouraged him to become, alongside his research work, a professional landscape photographer. He is interested in wild landscapes, free from any human intervention, but also the influence that humankind has had on our planet. His goal? To create stunning artistic works that create an awareness of the environment and inspire love in each of us for our magnificent and fragile planet. After being awarded many prizes (International Photography Awards 2018, Earth Photo Awards and Exhibition Finalist 2018, Neutral Density Photography Awards 2017, Paris Photography Prize 2017), he has become internationally famed for his art: landscape photography.  ... Rund ums Werk

PEDRO JARQUE KREBS

Ferocious beauties isolated from all context, as though they had been captured in their most secret intimacy, this is the remarkable artistic gesture of Peruvian photographer Pedro Jarque Krebs, restoring to the animals some of their stolen dignity. After studying philosophy at t...

LUDWIG FAVRE
