On the surface, vertical and horizontal lines which meet and architectural structures which seem to recur endlessly. Bordering on abstraction, the building façades appear regulated by the lines which structure them. The visual effect is reminiscent of Mondrian?s artworks. The uniformity of these home or building façades gives these modern constructions an inhuman aspect. However, in spite of the systematic repetition of the lines and forms, these façades accommodate individuals with miscellaneous destinies. The stories of men and women living and working are evolving in these impersonal towers and building blocks. They exist alongside each other, together or apart. Each is certain of the supremacy of their own existence over their neighbour?s. Behind each one of these windows, from sketch to tragedy, the theatre of life goes on.Read more Read less

In Lignano “Sabbiadoro”, a seaside resort in Northeast Italy, Rudi Sebastien photographed overcrowded beaches invaded by countless hired deck chairs and parasols. A multitude of colourful and disorderly patches thus shrouds the landscape. Captured within a short timeframe, his shots are then reworked so as to create remarkable plays of transparency and superposition. The effects thus obtained contribute to capturing the excitement and confusion that usually reign on these beaches.
