Antartic EchoesAbout this photograph
« Picture inspired by Vangelis?s music. Taken at the Tatra Mountains Range, Poland.Cold, severe, empty landscape. This is what I really like. A lone figure adds a special mood to the whole composition, matching exactly the music, bringing the first vision to my head. We see unpleasant no man?s land, covered by snow but he?s still going farther. Why? The wanderer is a question. A black mark on the white emptiness. Maybe a question mark. Manipulation with light and colours to give a colder effect. The figure on the picture is me. » MKRead more Read less

Michal Karcz was born in 1977 in Warsaw, Poland. In 1997, he graduated from the High School of Art in Warsaw and then from Advertising School. It was at this time that his interest for photography grew. He therefore studied all the techniques : traditional, darkroom, negative developing, analogue printing… Most of his work is an imaginary journey to places which don’t exist, places which figure in his dreams, his desires and his imagination, worlds which he wants to explore but which are far away from here. Many artists inspire him through music and literature which are for him, the two most accurate means of expression for what he creates. He currently works successfully as a freelance photographer and graphic designer in his own studio.« Since the world exists I will not stop dreaming in my pictures. Never close your eyes on beauty.
