Serge Ramelli

Escalier Montmartre

About this photograph

Serge Ramelli has achieved his dream: to photograph Paris in a cinematographic way. Through lighting effects, framing and mood, he looks for a ?grandiose, dramatic landscapes that communicate an emotion like some movies". To this end, he digitally applies a black and white technique once used by Ansel Adams, zone system, which allows photography to get as close as possible to the visual reality perceived by the artist. He thus obtains strong and contrasting images to enhance the aesthetic and graphic qualities of his subjects. Serge Ramelli's respective passions for photography and cinema have led him to capture iconic locations in Paris and capture the poetry emanating from the city's architecture, which has inspired, over time, many writers and artists.

The artist
Serge Ramelli

Passionate about images since a young age, Serge Ramelli decided to devote his career to it in 2005. He thus soon became a professional photographer and cinema producer. His creative and inquiring mind leads him to constantly explore new techniques, both photographically and digitally, in order to better recreate the grandeur of urban landscapes. He multiplies experiments in the field of photography and also successfully teaches various methods of mastering photography such as composition, materials, or retouching, via educational tutorials. These digital guides are designed for amateurs and professionals of the 8th art who wish to learn how to use creative digital tools such as Lightroom or HDR (High Dynamic Range), which allow powerful, contrasted, and dramatic images to be obtained.
