Escalier MontmartreAbout this photograph
Serge Ramelli has achieved his dream: to photograph Paris in a cinematographic way. Through lighting effects, framing and mood, he looks for a ?grandiose, dramatic landscapes that communicate an emotion like some movies". To this end, he digitally applies a black and white technique once used by Ansel Adams, zone system, which allows photography to get as close as possible to the visual reality perceived by the artist. He thus obtains strong and contrasting images to enhance the aesthetic and graphic qualities of his subjects. Serge Ramelli's respective passions for photography and cinema have led him to capture iconic locations in Paris and capture the poetry emanating from the city's architecture, which has inspired, over time, many writers and artists.
