Beatles on the stageAbout this photograph
From 1960 to 1970, the Beatles had 12 albums and more than 200 songs to their credit. To this day they are still the group with the highest number of records sold worldwide. On 25th June 1966, the Beatles gave a concert at the Circus Krone in Munich. The German actor Thomas Fritsch was on the stage between George Harrison and Ringo Starr. The Beatles always had a special relationship with the Germans and Germany. In fact, their first serious engagement was for a series of concerts in Hamburg. They went to Hamburg five times altogether between 1960 and 1962 to fulfil engagements. According to the Beatles themselves, it was in Germany that they learnt to become pros. John Lennon also said that in spite of no recording, they gave it their very all during these concerts in Hamburg.Read more Read less
