Richard Silver has his own unique way of seeing architecture. He does not limit himself to capturing a single image but chooses to assemble several, thus creating the large panoramas of the ?Vertical Churches? series. Each photograph is thus made through the association of a dozen shots of a place of religious worship located somewhere around the world. Through the use of this innovative technique similar to a tracking shot, the artists wishes to showcase the beauty of the interiors as a whole, while highlighting the decorative details that they?re made up of. The most difficult part, according to the New York-based photographer, is ?finding the ideal position in a central aisle, then photographing vertically from the centre outwards, down to the last bench at the back of the church, to obtain a perspective that is only possible with this kind of architecture.?Saperne di più Read less
