After working in the music business, live performance, then advertising, it was in 2008, at the height of the digital revolution that FrÃ©dÃ©ric Leschallier armed himself with a digital camera and carried out a number of shooting sessions. In 2010, a 4-month collaboration with Studio Harcourt taught hima new approach to lighting. This then becomes primordial in terms of his way of devising and producing his photographic projects. His approach to lighting thus became a luminous way of revealing the hidden nature of beings and things.For the artist, photography is above all a means of telling stories: his own stories, but also a combination of the subjective and the creative, aestheticism and realism. His favourite themes are Asian art, rebellion, seduction, independence, strangeness, and urbanity. He also seeks inspiration from filmmakers (Terry Gilliam, Tarantino, Scorsese, Kurusawa), artists (Moebius, Bourgeon, Frank Miller) and creators of worlds (Terry Pratchett)..
