Laurent Nivalle

Born in the northeast of France, photographer Laurent Nivalle grew up in Paris, where he studied art at the prestigious école Boulle then at the Université de Technologie de Compiègne (UTC) to train as a product designer. Passionate about cars, he joined the creative department of Citroën in the 2000s. Alongside his career as an artistic director, photographer and filmmaker for the car manufacturer, he undertakes personal work that has made him one of the most promising French photographers. In the course of his experimentation, Laurent Nivalle has invented his own photographic technique that some consider nostalgic, particularly due to the use of pastel and sepia shades. His artistic curiosity encouraged him to vary his fields of expertise, and he has tried his hand at not only automobile photography, but also portraiture and fashion photography. His work has been published in Paris Match, L'Uomo Vogue, GQ Magazine, Ferrari Magazine and many others.
