Antti Viitala

?Seascapes? is a series of eleven images, a poetic observation of the South African coast offshore from the beach of Camps Bay, near the city of Cape Town. The tides with their shades of intense blues powerfully advance and withdraw, allowing the horizon to underline the stormy skies towering above them. Minimalist and almost identical, the various marine views captured by Antti Vittala?s lens plunge the spectator into the core of a picturesque and boundless natural world.

Antti Viitala

A child prodigy who tried his hand at photography from the age of 14, Finnish photographer Antti Viitala began his career in advertising and fashion before setting off to travel all over the globe. The photographer ponders the power of nature, from Iceland to South Africa. He only works in natural light, combining the techniques of the old masters with a perfect mastery of new technologies in order to capture the most subtle details, textures, and shades in his pictures.
