Jörg Dickmann

Rainy Bokeh

About this photograph

The German photographer Jörg Dickmann devotes his work to the depiction of urban landscapes. High definition digital enables him to process the chromatic richness found in the city. By using artificial lighting, the photographer chooses the extreme saturation of colour as a crucial component of New York City. To capture the effect of speed of the car headlights, Jörg Dickmann uses a tripod with a slow shutter speed. This technique enables him to ?catch? the movement and therefore deliver a powerful image of the city?s energy.

The artist
Jörg Dickmann

Jörg Dickmann was born in 1973 in Sauerland, Germany. He started taking photos as a child, his father always had his SLR camera with him, photography has therefore always been a part of his life. In the beginning he only took holiday snapshots, just for the fun of it, with no serious ambition. This changed when the possibilities of digital processing revolutionized photography. When he bought his first DSLR, he began to experiment. There was a huge improvement in the quality of his work and he began to take photography more and more seriously and professionally. After publishing his work on the web, he received a huge amount of positive feedback from professional photographers. His photos were published in several German magazines: Foto Praxis, Focus, ELLE City, Which motivated him to find his own photographic style. His work focuses mainly on urbanism, architecture and nightscapes. Jörg has always been self-taught and wants to show his own view of the world. He doesn't want to copy reality, he wants to create his own
