Photography is a means of exploring, inventing, escaping. Photography is a refuge for me, affirms Italian artist, Cristina Coral. Delicate and poetic, the young woman's work seems to exhibit her inner emotions by bringing her observations of reality into the light of day, her inner thoughts, and the emotional baggage of her memories. For her, each image has a soul and this one in particular, which completes her series "Over the Rainbow". It was taken in 2014 in Italy, after a rainy day, as a rainbow stood out in the background, through the clouds. The female model, in a bathing suit, is making the most of summer to charge her batteries by a swimming pool dating from the 1930s. The natural lighting gives crucial intensity to Cristina Coral's compositions, who captures dreamlike moments outside of time. She thus opens up the doors of a mysterious world to us, on the borders of her imagination.
