Éric Lafforgue

Miss Kim lives in Pyongyang, North Korea. She is wearing uniform but is not a soldier. She is the French-speaking guide at the 'Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum.' If North Koreans are not permitted to leave the country, foreign travellers can come. Tourism in North Korea is very controlled. Officially there is no restriction once a visa is obtained. However, foreign groups must all be accompanied by a guide, an interpreter and a chauffeur.

The artist
Éric Lafforgue

An inhabitant of Toulouse, born in 1964, he has always worked in media. Since childhood, he has travelled around the world with a partiality for remote areas. At the age of 42, he decided to update his equipment and publish his photographs on the internet. He was immediately successful. Major newspapers and magazines approached Lafforgue to publish his photographs (National Geographic, The Times, Geo International…).
