About this photographThe Clash is a British punk group, formed in London in the 1970s known for being one of the main quartets in the history of British rock and punk rock. He began his career in 1976 which came to an end in 1985. In 2003, the group entered the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The style of their music is associated with the punk movement and anti-establishment rock. Joe Strummer joined The Clash in 1976. He became the vocalist and only leader of The Clash until 1985. He died prematurely in 2002 from an undetected heart defect.

It was in October 1980, at a concert by the Cure that Richard Bellia decided to become a rock photographer. In 1985, he moved to London and joined the prestigious Melody Maker, the number one weekly English music magazine. He has since worked for many publications and artists (his photos of Nirvana were reprinted in the 2011 rerelease of Nevermind).
