Biography
After studying photography in Munich, Rainer W. Schlegelmilch opened his own photographic studio in Frankfurt in 1964. At this time, alongside his advertising activities, he began to photograph Formula 1 and prototype races. This awakened his passion for the world of cars. He has a weakness for BMW touring cars which regularly excel on the racing car circuits. In 1983, when Nelson Piquet won the Formula 1 World Championship in a Brabham BMW, Schlegelmilch was there to capture the scene. Rainer is systematically present at all the racing car circuits. He has published many works dedicated to Formula 1 or to manufacturers like Aston Martin and Porsche as well as Ferrari. Today Rainer W. Schlegelmilch is unquestionably one of the best Formula 1 photographers in the world.
